The latest Kregel Blog Tour book I've been reading is The Brotherhood Conspiracy by Terry Brennan. It's full of action from the first page. It all starts in Tripoli, Libya in 1978 with 4 shadows that sneak in to complete an assassination. The story then moves to the present in New York City where the television news reports that an earthquake in Jerusalem has devastated the Temple Mount.
The Dome of the Rock and The Third Temple of God, a temple that had been hidden under the Temple Mount, are also destroyed. Then a quick peek at the reaction in Damascus, Syria and a jump back to Washington, DC. Hopefully you can keep up! This story moves quickly into a discussion of how peace in the Middle East has just ended, and the clock is ticking to "the last days" of Biblical prophecy. This story covers just over a month of the events that follow.
Although the story is fiction, there are elements that are very real such as the Temple Mount, attempts at peace in the Middle East, The Muslim Brotherhood, jihad, and Biblical references to Abaddon (Apollyon), "the destroyer". I though it was interesting to see that the guy trying to accomplish annihilation of the Middle East in the story just happened to be named Abbudin. I think I see a new book to follow. (Hopefully I'll get to read that one too!)
I'm not going to spoil it for you with a bunch of details, but I'm pretty sure that if you start reading this one you'll be wide awake until the end of this suspenseful story.
