This is another great Cooper book about that fun-loving, black Labrador Retriever. In this book kids meet Trooper, Cooper’s best friend, and find out how he was adopted by Gracie and Joe and their parents, who both serve in the military. This family stays close even when they are separated. This book helps children know loved ones still love us even when they aren't with us. This is also a good pick for patriotic holidays.
Alexa Peters (age 13) was inspired to write a story about family friends who were separated by deployment. She wanted to write this book to help kids process their feelings about loved ones being away from home and honor those in service.
In addition to a fun adventure, each Cooper and Me story teaches an important Life Lesson and features interactive materials at the back of the book to drive the message home. Included are activities that help children name and process their own feelings about what they’ve read.
This book, like all the other books in the series, includes:
• A Special Memory Creation
• Life Lesson
• Learning Together
Once again, this is another book full of great illustrations that your children will love. A nice story and a perfect gift for a child with a family member or friend in the military. If you liked the other Cooper and Me books, this will probably be another favorite.
