"Five years ago, Keelyn Blake's stepfather took her family hostage, raving about Lucent, a being who forced him to commit unspeakable acts. Some of the family made it out alive; the rest did not." Have I captured your attention?
"Now Lucent is back--and he's no hallucination." How about now?
Poison--a Novel, written by Jordyn Redwood, is the second book in the Bloodline Trilogy. Recently I was given the opportunity to receive a copy to read to provide this review.
This suspenseful thriller contains great characters and an interesting and mysterious story line. Keelyn finds out in this second book of the trilogy that Lucent has kidnapped her niece. Unfortunately when Keelyn finds out about the kidnapping and tries to get in touch with her half-sister, Raven, she discovers that her half-sister is missing. So many questions related to Raven and her daughter send Keelyn looking for answers. Let's just say that some of those answers are unexpected and a little scary.
This story has more twists and turns than I expected and finishes in a way I did not expect when I started. That is the sign of a great author in my mind. I love how the characters developed as the story progressed. Jordyn has quite an imagination to pull off a story like this. This book was hard to put down. I look forward to reading the whole trilogy.
