We recently received a fun DVD to check out for this review. VeggieTales--the Little House That Stood is sure to be another favorite in our house. This DVD, which releases today, provides a lesson in making good choices.
About the storyline: The Little House that Stood is about the Three Little Pigs who move to Cabbageville. While they are looking to build some new houses they meet Larry (who builds with hay), Mr. Lunt (who builds with bricks), and Bob (the tomato, not Bob the Builder from the cartoons). Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation with some help from the wise plans from the Master Builder's Handbook. This story teaches kids about following God's blueprints to help them stand strong. There is also a silly song followed by a story about Humpty Dumpty. We enjoyed the Tooth Day song and the twist on The Three Bears/Humpty Dumpty story.
What did we think? If your kids have enjoyed previous Veggie movies they'll probably enjoy this one too. I have to admit it was interesting to see how the characters were incorporated into the VeggieTales world. This DVD is fun for all ages, and it's sure to be a hit with younger children. What a fun way to learn the ideas presented in the parables of the Bible!
