Recently I was offered a 6 week trial of K5 Learning to provide a review. Due to computer issues I was unable to access this trial, but I would like to tell you about this program that several people I know find really useful.

MIAMI VINEYARD LIVE - CD Review and Giveaway

Hi again! I recently received a very uplifting worship album from Vineyard Music -- a worship album recorded live from their church in Miami. Let me tell you a bit about it.
This CD includes a group of 20+ musicians and 10+ songwriters sharing their own musical traditions of Black Gospel, Latin, Caribbean, and Anglo to create a new tradition and sound. This CD is a fusion of Black, Anglo, Latino, Caribbean, and Cuban voices united together to worship in one voice. Among the 2000 people that attend the Miami Vineyard Community Church, there are over a hundred singers, instrumentalists and songwriters that make up its eclectic worship ministry. The listener will hear anthems of praise and proclamation as well as songs of intimacy and adoration -- true worship of the Living God as an expression of His Kingdom breaking in on the streets and beaches of Miami, FL.
What did we think of this CD? We really enjoy it. The music on this CD is unique from any other worship albums we have. I'm not always fond of "live" albums, but the quality of the music and singing from this unique group of people was a pleasure to listen to. I'd have a hard time picking a favorite song from this one since I really liked several songs, a lot. If you're looking for another worship CD with a real upbeat feel and want to try something different you might enjoy this Vineyard release.

When is the last time you read the first few pages of a book and knew you'd found a new favorite author? I'm excited to tell you about this book I recently received to write this review.
Written by award-winning novelist, Jamie Carie, The Guardian Duke is a Regency-era romantic adventure where the hero and heroine have not met but know each other through written letters.
Gabriel, the Duke of St. Easton, is ordered by the King to take guardianship over Lady Alexandria Featherstone whose parents are presumed dead after failing to return from a high profile treasure hunt. Alexandria ignores the royal assignment, believing her parents are still alive, and she follows clues that may help her find them. Gabriel, pressured by the King, chases her across England and Ireland but manages to keep ending up one step behind. When they do meet, the search for earthly treasure will pale in comparison to what God has planned for both of them.
So, what jumped out at me from this book making me want more? This story is full of rich descriptions of London and North Umberland, England in the early 19th century (1818). There are characters ranging from a feisty young woman with missing parents and her faithful old servants to a duke who receives orders from the king. The book starts out with the two main characters, Gabriel and Alexandria, coming from very different worlds. Along the way letters are exchanged periodically, but the characters do not meet. Gabriel and Alexandria end up learning about each other and desire to eventually meet. I'll not spoil it for you by telling you what happens when they meet, but I will tell you that you'll want to read more. (wink, wink, nod, nod -- cliffhanger ending) (Yes, another book follows this one and comes out in July 2012. Watch for The Forgiven Duke, book two of the Forgotten Castles series--I'm looking forward to reading the continuing story which moves to Iceland--the Land of Fire and Ice.) By the way, I'm not really into romance novels, but this one is written in a fashion which catches and keeps my attention. I look forward to reading all three books of this trilogy.
